  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Pedri was in tears as he was taken off just eight minutes into Spain's Euro 2024 quarter-final win after a challenge from German midfielder Toni Kroos. Spain sealed the victory late in extra-time and the team gathered for a celebratory picture in the dressing room, but Pedri – with his knee heavily bandaged – had to be carried into the frame as the squad and staff refused to let him miss out.

  Unfortunately, Pedri has been diagnosed with a sprained knee and has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. The news comes as a big blow to Spain as the Barcelona youngster had featured in four of their five matches at Euro 2024.
